For this project we have to create an immersive, multi-screen experience for the new Outernet development launching in central London later this year. This should compliment the content displayed in the Now Arcade at Outernet London and should be based on the theme 'Another London'. This theme looks beyond the familiar images, and explores the undiscovered, less well-known side of London.

Initial Research notes:
Outline / concept:
An exploration of society through data visualisation, audio-visual techniques and generative graphics - using motion graphics and coding to generate particle based visuals which create a futuristic, immersive, void-like experience that explores London in the new digital age.
My aim is to create chaotic and overwhelming graphics which capture the depth, complexity and busyness of the city and portray the feelings and thoughts of the people in London, using an abstract and experimental approach to create a simulation-like virtual space that represents the cyber side of London as a hyper-normalised state of reality.
To achieve this, I will manipulate existing ideas of London to create a dystopian, futuristic view of the city, using different editing techniques and art styles. Taking something familiar and well-known and turning this into an unseen alternative version of reality. Although I will be predominantly focusing on the futuristic elements of the city, I also want to include references to the historical aspects to emphasise the transition between the past, present and future. I will also be experimenting with the idea of light as this is something very prominent within the city. I will create an intense, hardcore, beat-driven audio track to compliment these visuals and add to the overwhelming style.

Typography test:
Poem / text which I wrote to support the visuals and help add to the narrative elements of the piece. I tried out different fonts to see which ones would compliment the visuals best, my favourites were Eras Medium ITC, Copperplate Gothic Light and Bell MT but I decided to use Copperplate Gothic Light for my final piece.

Touch Designer:
Using touch designer to create abstract visuals. I didn't end up using any of these in my final piece as I had never used the software before but it was fun to experiment with new methods and techniques and I will try and use it again in future projects.
